Multimedia Outreach

The OASLC uses a variety of media to educate as wide an audience as possible about marine issues and specific research projects.

During the summer months, Park Rangers deliver OASLC-developed interpretive programs daily at the Alaska SeaLife Center. SeaLife Seminars are videotaped and distributed via public access cable television. Short documentary videos about specific projects show at National Park Service visitor centers and on public television. Radio reporters are invited into the field to produce stories about science in the Parks. Small exhibits have been built for Park Service visitor centers and in partnership with private eco-tourism companies.

No matter the media, the goal is the same - to educate the public about marine research needs, methods, and results.
